Going Stir Crazy Yet?

I don't know about you but I’m getting to the point where I’m getting a little stir crazy right now. I've actually been getting a lot done since we've all been in quarantine and it's been good for my soul and for my creative mind but I think I'm just having one of those days where the walls feel like they are closing in and I miss people. But when these days happen, like today when I noticed I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and I was getting frustrated with little things that didn't even matter and I was about to just give up on the whole day before 11am... I reminded myself of everything I have to be thankful for and I took a moment to stop and take a breathe and take control of what I could. I went to my room and put a Young Living essential oil JOY on my wrists and put an uplifting blend in my diffuser and got my bible out with my bible app (I love my app but I still love to look up the scripture in my actual bible) along with my journal and just started feeling my mind with scripture and focus on refreshing myself.

I reminded myself that it's okay to have these moments but what's not okay is to just accept it and drown yourself in negativity or excuses. It’s okay to be sad or upset but don’t stay in that place. We can have peace and comfort from our Savior but we have to let it in. Give yourself grace and accept the hope that you have even if it seems small.

But it’s important that we don’t mix up what grace really means. There is a difference between giving yourself grace and just letting yourself do whatever you want and not trying to better yourself in any way. To me, grace is seeing that you have fallen short but because of God’s grace, you are able to forgive yourself and get back up and strive to better yourself! Grace is not an “excuse” for you to do whatever you please. It’s a gift from God. See scripture of “grace” below.

So the next time that you feel like you’re hitting a wall emotionally and/or physically and you realize that you’re going a bit stir crazy.. here’s some suggestions on what you can do to help get your mind ready to take on a new day in no particular order.

1. Jesus Time

- Bring yourself to a place where you can have quiet time with the Lord and open up your bible or bible app (or both like me hehe) and just be still and clear your mind. Reading scripture simply helps me know that God is in control and there is peace in any situation.

(oily friends- put frankincense on the back of your neck to help calm the brain. I don’t know about you but sometimes it’s hard for me to stop thinking!)

2. Journaling

- For some reason, writing things down just makes me feel better. I LOVE to journal and I feel that it helps me get my thoughts out and refreshes me for the day. My favorite way to pray and to journal to God. That way I can look back months from now and see how clearly he answered my prayers and heard me. Journaling is a great way to get ALL THE FEELS out.

(songwriter friends- this is a great way to start the process of songwriting!)

3. EXCERISE

- I try to work out 5 times a week at least on my Erin Opera #PrettyMusclesApp! Y’all.. if you don’t know what this app is then LOOK IT UP! It has been a game changer for me. I’m the type of person that needs to be told what to do and that’s what makes this app so amazing for me! And I can do all the workouts at home which is a bonus! It gives you an exact work out EACH DAY and it also has rest days built in. Plus, it has meal planning as well, but I haven’t dived too deep into the that area yet. Because of this app, exercising is one of my favorite ways to clear my mind, reboot and rejuvenate!

4. DRIVE

- If you can, just go for a drive and turn your favorite kind of music up loud and just enjoy the freedom. For me, I love to just drive and blast country music. I did that today and I felt SO much better and happier after. Personally, music is an escape for me and it's a must for my everyday. I always have my headphones in or at least have music playing in the background.

We are very limited on where we can go right now but there's always a open road waiting for you. So go take the back roads, roll the windows down and turn the music UP and embrace God's creations and beauty.

The main things that I try to prioritize in my days to keep me sane in this quarantine is Jesus, exercise, oils, music, mindset and journaling. Now life is going to happen and I’m not going to be able to

do all of those things EVERYDAY but even doing 1 or 2 of them is going to help tremendously. Even acknowledging those things can be so rewarding. So, find what gives you joy and keeps you grounded. Maybe try some of my suggestions or do what you know works for you. We are all different and this time is affecting us all differently at different times. Just remember to give yourself grace and know that when you wake up in the morning that it will be a new day. There’s always something to celebrate! Even if it’s just putting real clothes on or fixing your hair; victories come in all different shapes and sizes!!

So here I am finishing this blog and opening my bible and getting my journal out to fill my soul with some Jesus and diffusing a uplifting blend with geranium and valor with joy on my wrists ✨ Let go and let God make decisions that are good for your soul y’all.

Comment what is keeping you sane during this quarantine!

See y’all next week!
